Probably no more than 50% is silly, misinformed, or dangerous. From the FOREWORD: |Do you know the difference between white gas and white spirits? What about the difference between white spirits and mineral spirits? (Of course, there's always mineral spirits and alcoholic spirits.) How about the difference between mineral oil and mineral spirits? Or coal oil and kerosene? |There's a lot of information that you can find on the internet surrounding these topics. Some is just opinion and some is factual. Some makes me laugh, some makes my head shake in disbelief, and some, at times, makes me sad. |Before publication, this book (as the author notes) was reviewed by two petrochemical engineers, a college physics professor, and a chemical engineer. As it so happens, I am the physics professor in question. But that was my past career. Today I work in the oil and gas industry and have been in the industry for almost 20 years. |I want to assure the reader that the information presented in this book is accurate. The topics, written from a lamp-fuel and lantern-fuel point of view, have been simplified but with full confidence I can state that what is presented is correct. |Please don't burn your house down.
